Sustainable solutions to mass manufacturing
What the Future creates breakthrough batch-to-mass manufacturing technologies that enable planet-friendly industrial scale production.
By reinventing existing processes with breakthrough perspectives, helping manufacturers realize the untapped possibilities of engineering, digital design and 3D technology they minimize production cost, business risk, and environmental impact.
The new visual identity for What The Future is built around core values: urgency, scalability, tenacity, fun, and innovation.
At its heart lies a bold monospaced font paired with a visible grid of vertical lines. This design not only symbolizes the precision of production lines and manufacturing processes but also creates a flexible and scalable visual system, ensuring distinctive and recognizable layouts across all applications.
To set the tone for the new identity, the launch featured a brand video emphasizing innovation and exploration. The typography was crafted using techniques like 3D printing, thermoforming, and injection molding, mirroring the approach of What The Future. See also the tech video below to see how What The Future uses these techniques to create breakthrough production lines.
The typographic identity of What The Future is grounded in a vertical grid that serves as a consistent foundation for the design. This grid supports the typographical layer while allowing for flexibility. Variable fonts are used interactively, with hover effects that bring the text to life. These transitions reflect the production process, emphasizing adaptability and progression in a subtle yet engaging way.
